Part 16: Obstacles

ACT 2: Obstacles

Neva’s Perspective:

“Tch, we are too late.” Neva said, as they watched the horror unfold on the top floor. Florence was no longer moving from his spot as Randall had stabbed him right in the chest.

“His wounds are too severe.” Rahul said. “We can’t save him now… Not that we could when our weapons are still charging.”

“30% charged.” Neva said. “We have to prevent the Hub Crystal from being stolen… We are the only guys left here.”

“It is too difficult.” Rahul said. “Did you see that attack? There’s no way we can fight against those flames.”

The flames heat up the window they were looking from, shattering it into pieces. There were more casualties below, as Neva was getting worried about the situation.

“Christian called just now, and your sister is safe.” Rahul said. “We are from the DEA. Protecting the Hub Crystal wasn’t part of our mission, as selfish as it might sound. Killing Randall isn’t part of our goal in the first place.”

“Retaliating… might mean… he could destroy this whole building.” Neva cried, as the door burst open.

“Hub… Crystal…” Randall has made it all the way up there, with his burnt out sword.

“Take it.” Rahul said. “We are not part of Flo Residences.”

“Ye…yeah!” Neva cried, as they quickly retrieved their charges. They looked at one another, trying to avoid as much confrontation as possible.

“Hub…” Randall stopped in his tracks, as he sensed something was wrong. “The DEA… must… be… destroyed.”

“What?” Neva thought, as Rahul shielded her from a burst of flames.

“The Wolf Tamer’s orders.” Randall said. “Must destroy all of them.”

Meanwhile, Josh received a text message from Rahul, which he had typed beforehand about the situation at Flo Residences. Josh was feeling flustered, trying to find Randall when he was back at the place he was potentially guarding.

Blu, however, was already gone in his car, as soon as Josh mentioned Florence’s name. Peng Goh asked him to keep his head up and continue the search in the mall. She already knew this could have been a distraction for them, but wanted to fact check it before abandoning the possibility of the Wolf Tamer’s location.

“Make it, Blu.” Josh could only leave things up to him.

Blu tore through the roads, covering his whole entire car with water. He was losing his composure, and rammed through every Dozer he saw.

He reached Flo Residences, and went upstairs to see that Randall was there with Rahul’s armor being charred from the intense heat of the sword.

“You…” Blu said, as water circled around his entire arm, as he fired it at Randall with full force. However, it did completely nothing against him.

“How dare you kill Florence?” Blu said, as Randall swiped his sword up at him. Rahul shoved him aside, and grabbed it with his gauntlet, but the heat shattered it instantly.

“It’s hopeless.” Rahul said, as they tumbled onto the ground. “We aren’t even a match to him.”

“I have to… protect the condominium that Florence had built with his own hands.” Blu said. “If it’s the last thing that I do…”

Randall swiped his blade, as the flames sliced off part of the building cleanly.

“The priority is the safety of the people.” Neva cried, as half of the ceiling collapsed to the bottom. “The Hub Crystal is not as valuable… Blu… please.”

Blu clenched his fists as he created a water barrier around them.

“Randall… doesn’t seem to want to stop fighting us.” Blu said as he yelled at the top of his lungs. “Take what you came here for!”

Randall stopped in his tracks, as he eyed at the crystal behind him. He remembered his main objective and stabbed the crystal with his sword. It was adapted into its body as Blu wept from how powerless he was.

“Objective… cleared. Back… to Wolf… Tamer.” Randall leapt off the building, as a burst of flames propelled him towards the sky.

“It is that desperate, huh?” Blu said, picking up his phone. “I have snuck a tracker on it when I propelled that water stream earlier. Peng Goh’s gadgets do come in handy.”

“But with the power gone…” Neva said, as Blu called the remaining of his men up. He asked them to take care of all the injured men, and those who have died from this whole incident. He was given the highest authority, since Florence had lost his life.

“He was a good man.” Blu said, as he checked the location on where Randall was heading to. “A great leader that I looked up to ever since I joined him. He took me up like his own son, and trained me to become a stronger man than I was. It is cliche, but that man never stopped saving his own people… even though he knew very well… that his power was significantly weak.”

“Other proprietors looked down on his techniques, but I never once saw them as ineffective or defensive.” Blu said. “They were abilities that were meant… to save others.”

“Blu… I…” Neva said, as Blu proceeded downstairs.

“You two aren’t responsible for capturing Randall. After all, Florence only called the DEA to destroy the Wolf Dozers.” Blu said solemnly. “But if you haven’t stopped or protected me back there, I think I would have sacrificed the lives of the people Florence was trying to protect.”

Blu hopped onto his car, as he opened up the GPS on his car.

The two watched as his car left immediately.

“We aren’t going to be doing anything to help.” Rahul said, looking at his own broken gauntlet. “And as for you, I think you shouldn’t blame yourself for not going either…”

“I mean, we are all frankly cowards inside.”

“Yeah.” Neva said, as she received a message from her sister. It said “I am doing fine, sis! But I was scared… but I have good people here that protected me.”

“I am okay.” Neva said. “I… can’t afford to die… not right now.”

“Yo, Josh. I found that bastard’s position. I will send you the details through Whosapp.” Blu called Josh as he was still searching around in the mall for the Wolf Tamer.

“Where is he heading to?” Josh asked, as Blu turned his car to the right.

“Heading towards you.” Blu said. “It seems as if we were on the right track.”

“The Wolf Tamer… is somewhere in this building.” Josh thought, finally feeling like a closure is going to happen very soon.
