Part 22: Second Climax & Descending Action

ACT 2: Climax

Ilyas’ Perspective:

“Looks like the Flexidozer had adapted Randall…” Ilyas said. “If it is gaining such power, it could destroy the entire city in one blow.”

“Tch, we need backup now.” Blu said. “Any proprietor would do to stop this fiend.”

“I can adapt its powers.” Edelyn said. “I can match it…”

“No.” Neva said. “That thing probably has humans in it… You will be adapting people into the suit of yours.”

“Oi… look out!” Jun Cheng cried, as a laser beam of fire was fired from the tip of the plant, destroying the ground and cutting through walls.

“We have to do whatever we can to stop it.” Ilyas said. “There is no time to fear our deaths.”

Christian’s Perspective:

Christian has finally reached the carpark where Carlos and Josh had apprehended the Wolf Tamer.

“Josh, what the hell were you thinking?” Christian yelled, grabbing him by the collar. “Running to danger alone and not responding to calls. Do you have any clue what has happened?”

“What? What are you talking…” Josh realized that he had a few missed calls from Blu and Peng Goh. “Sorry… I was…”

“He was dealing with this bugger.” Carlos said. “He didn’t have time to answer. I am his witness.”

“Man… what a troublesome day.” Christian said as Margaret followed behind. “You should head to Blu’s location immediately. Things aren’t looking pretty.”

“Yeah, it doesn’t.” Carlos said, as he looked back to see that the Wolf Tamer was melting away.

“What the…” Josh activated his acid to attack him, but he was already gone.

“Damn it!” Carlos yelled. “That must be Florence’s ability…”

“We were talking to a fake all along…” Josh said, as he contacted Blu immediately.

“Blu, what is the situation now?”

Descending Action (Act 3):

Ilyas’ Perspective:

A sudden wave of water collapses, as the plant that emerged from the ground melted away like water.

Blu created a water blob that surrounded them all, as the creature was gone just like that.

It was an anticlimactic ending that none of them had expected. There were no fights, no casualties, nothing but the mere destruction that the plant had caused.

The wolf Dozers were no longer appearing, and the five stood there wondering what that was all about.

Blu received the call from Josh as he could not muster any words.

“Josh… the beast has… vanished completely.”

Rahul’s Perspective:

“Good work in discerning your location, Rahul.” A deep voice spoke to him on the phone. “The money would be sent to you via bank transfer.”

“Right.” Rahul said, as he felt deeply remorse over the betrayal of his friends. “You better keep your hands away from my family. They have nothing to do with this… or me anymore.”

“The debt you’ve gambled away has to be paid back in full.” The voice said. “But the Underground Leaders are pleased with your progress. Keep up the good work and we’ll slowly deduct from the debt.”

“What are you guys planning?” Rahul asked. “Separating the DEA like this… and making them run around naked with nothing to gain from it…”

“You know very well we hate the DEA.” The voice spoke. “If not for people like Keaton, we would have forced the DEA to be abandoned.”

“What does Keaton have in mind?” Rahul said as the voice simply laughed.

“Who knows?” The voice said. “Why should I tell you anything? You just need to do what you’re told… like the dogs you all are.”

The line was cut off as Rahul tossed the phone onto the carpet.

“Sorry guys. Forgive me.”
