Part 20: Crisis

ACT 2: Crisis

Christian’s Perspective:

“What do you think about the Flexidozer that Ilyas and his team found?” Margaret asked, as they headed up the second floor.

“Haven’t you heard? This Flexidozer… was so powerful that it needed one of the top elite proprietors to take it down.” Christian said. “That was why it was preserved under the Punggol Police Station. They wanted to study its adaptability, and many proprietors had copied its DNA and used it to make weapons.”

“Who took down such a monster?” Margaret asked.

“Merry Lion. He was one of the elite proprietors that wasn’t part of the Elite Proprietor Unit, but its own special unit called the Singapore Landmark Proprietor Unit. Over the last year, many reports of missing people were found in newspapers and it was said that a beast that absorbed humans was rampant. Merry Lion, a man known as a legend of all proprietors, and the representative of the Merlion was the one that took it down in Punggol.”

“Wow, the symbol of Singapore. That’s interesting.” Margaret said, feeling amazed by such a huge feat.

“Because this Flexidozer had absorbed close to 354 things and people, it had the adaptability to take on the toughest proprietors. Its goal was unknown, and whoever created this monster was probably part of the Underground Society.” Christian said solemnly, wondering who would even birth such a creature into existence. “Either way, no one believed that such a beast would be created by natural causes.”

“What exactly is a Flexidozer?” Margaret felt a sense of intense power it possessed.

“It is a type of Dozer that can adapt to more than one thing. No, it can adapt to an infinite amount of things.” Christian explained. “It does have a weakness, which is it can only use one adaptation at once for 30 minutes. But the timing is an estimate, and they are extremely flexible at using every single adaptation.”

He paused as they reached the supermarket on the third floor.

“But the scariest part of the Dozer is that it can adapt to multiple humans. Like a parasite sticking onto its prey and controlling it. It can form human speech, and eventually copy their conscience.”

“It’s almost like a Human-Dozer.” Margaret said, as Christian leaned against the railing, looking down at the mall.

“A Human-Dozer doesn’t act freely but by the last will of the person it absorbed. The more negative the emotions, the more aggressive this Dozer becomes.” Christian explained. “A normal Dozer is naturally and unlikely to adapt to a human. But by altering their thoughts or DNA, it is what makes Corrupted Dozer Weapons so dangerous.”

“It’s almost like mind control.” Margaret said. “Why are people this sick in the head?”

“Don’t ask me.” Christian said, as they looked through the columns of shelves filled with different assortments of food and beverages. “But it is the same as what the DEA is trying to do… To alter these weapons and make them adapt to us.”

“So the Flexidozer is still out there right now?” Margaret asked as Christian stopped in his tracks.

“Hmm, I have a bad feeling about this.” Christian said. “Everything is not going as smoothly as we planned.”

“It should be fine.” Margaret said. “As long as we can figure out who the Wolf Tamer is among these people…”

“It’s too strange.” Christian said. “Why would he send us all here? The Flexidozer or Randall might not even be coming here.”

“But Josh said that Randall was being tracked, right?” Margaret asked, as Christian ran out of the supermarket.

“No, this doesn’t add up.” Christian said. “A man in a lab coat freed the Flexidozer from the containment according to Meadow. If he was working under the Wolf Tamer, it meant he probably had direct contact with him.”

“We still don't know who the Wolf Tamer is…” Margaret said.

“The Flexidozer isn’t going to come here… it's going to adapt Randall… and proceed somewhere else.” Christian said, rushing down the escalator. “I have to confirm this with Peng Goh and ask to contact Blu.”

“Isn’t Josh the one handling it all?” Margaret asked. “We should wait for his instructions…”

“Something is weird about Josh…” Christian said. “Tch, I don’t want to believe it but… he might know where the Wolf Tamer is but for some reason, is keeping it a damn secret.”

“You are the one acting weird…” Margaret thought.

“Christian, Blu is in trouble.” Peng Goh said, as the two met her outside. “Where did Josh go? He is not replying to my calls or messages.”

“Under the basement of the mall perhaps.” Christian said. “I think I’ve figured out where the Wolf Tamer is.”
